How many times have we heard it said
I told you so
when you do something wrong.
It is as if they are some kind of genius,
which always gets it right.
We learn from the mistakes we make
not by someone’s flapping tongue.
We all do things our own way,
if we get it wrong we get it wrong.
We just go back to the beginning
and start all over again
doing things a different way until we get it right.
What we don’t need is some know it all
to stand behind us and tut, tut away.
If we need help, we ask for it
from someone we know who knows
and not by some fly-by-night know it all
who normally knows nothing at all,
and not how to take their tongue
out of second gear.

I would like to translate this poem
I was nodding along with the poems lines; yes, yes- and then I got to the end and couldn't stop laughing. I think if tongues had gears their transmission would always be broken anyway; spinning faster and faster, not going anywhere at all..(smile)
