Walking through this world,
in the footsteps of my God.
At first, I was frightened
at the things I tried to do.
I hoped that I would not offend him,
by what I said about him,
but his hand guided me through.
He made me a better man,
in everything I do;
now I take pride in what I am.
There is an old saying,
that pride goes before a fall.
Maybe in some ways that saying
might just be a little true.
One day I might just fall,
if friends desert me for what I do.
Until that day comes along,
I will write for them each day,
making them grin, laugh and smile,
for I take pride in what I am.
