I'Ve Lost My Jumper Poem by John Carter Brown

I'Ve Lost My Jumper

Rating: 5.0

I can't find my jumper
It's more than belief,
And causing me nothing
But headache and grief;
I've looked in the wardrobe
And under the stair,
But it's not where it should be...
It just isn't there.

It's perishing cold
And I need it so bad,
It's easily the warmest
That I've ever had;
It's faded and worn
But still one I love,
It's thick and it's comfy
And fits like a glove.

I've searched everywhere
It could possibly be,
I've quizzed every member
Of my family;
So, without too much hope,
And heart heavy as lead,
The only thing left
Is to look in the shed;

And there in the corner
Our Labrador lies,
A grin on his muzzle
And white in his eyes;
He looks very guilty
And buries his head,
And glory! No wonder,
It's there, in his bed!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The idea for this poem came from the fact that I've lost my old jacket - the one I use when gardening. I still haven't found it either!

Very entertaining poem. (Your wife threw it out - they do things like that) I guess it's time to buy a new jacket..
