Comfortalby Numb

I Was A Poet - Poem by Comfortalby Numb

The trees swayed side to side
Beckoning me to drown in the river
Laid on it’s back
Cold chills drawn out the upper streams
Please… just don’t look at me
Keep to yourself
On windy roads heading in every direction
But which one is worth the risk?
Keeping on deep pains align
Week after week
Trees swayed side to side, enticing every bit of me
To drown in the river laid flat on it’s back
So tempting to sink in and relax
The desire was, I was a poet, but that was long ago
So I promote myself on to the floor
And work through on trudging more
The risk, calling me to drown in the desire
To lose myself in these windy roads
I was a poet, but that was long ago
