I Will Rise Poem by sookdeo manansingh manansingh

I Will Rise

The journey never ceases
flowers blossom in the spring
the waves look to reach ashore
while the clouds go after the moon

where is the rainbow
Mother Earth is dry
the weeds have overgrown
in the space of the river
and the fish have disappeared
the silence upon the mountain
remains far from a storm

everything is moving
except for my feet
I am stuck in the mud
and is unable to take
my luggage anywhere
I have lost hope
and is beginning to fear

what must I change
to give life to my dream
I am speechless
to give anyone advice
I wish I could be a frog
and leap with the leaves
in the wind

I am on the edge of a precipice
and have nowhere to turn
there is no branch to take my hand
and there is darkness all around
what should I do
to find the light

I have only faith in myself
for yet do I breathe
there is still strength in my mind
to challenge the storm ahead
the rivers will overflow
and I will rise
to touch the rainbow

I am an invisible being
walking upon earth
the kingdom of heaven
is my beacon of hope
I am the immortal self
passing through
this world.
