I Wish I'D Said Goodbye Poem by Holly Jamestone

I Wish I'D Said Goodbye

[Interceding for Philip Seymour Hoffman]

Beating heart slows to a crawl
As then I fly away, gently, freely in a ball
Yet if I could I’d say

It never was a void in you, our children or our friends
It was a grip so powerful, the craving never ends
Endurance contests, abstinence, promises all broken
Hell on earth and mental pain, so much left unspoken

Sleeping heart loved to its core
Until I flew away, gently, freely in a ball
Yet if I could I’d say

Remember me in sanity, when clean and lily white
And hold me in your longing arms to help you sleep at night
It never was a void in you, our children or our friends
It was a grip so powerful, the craving never ends

Longing heart to make amends
Now flying in the sky, cannot erase reality
I WISH I’D SAID GOODBYE
