I Wouldn'T Say That Too Loudly Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

I Wouldn'T Say That Too Loudly

When I ask you how you are doing,
Can you respond by telling me 'how' you are?
Instead of discussing what you've written,
All the time?

'Do I say anything at all...
When you show me picture after picture,
Of your children...
Growing from day to day? '

That is not the same thing?

'Oh?
I wouldn't say that too loudly
You've already hurt 'my' feelings!
I'm glad I decided to leave my 'kids' at home.'
