I Wrote Another Story Poem by Paula Glynn

I Wrote Another Story

I have lived on earth before,
I have written another story,
In the story of life,
A story of murder, guilt and redemption.
I am no longer a killer,
I don't kill or mutilate,
I keep my thoughts to myself,
But I know there are others out there,
Replaying everything I once went through.

But this is a new story:
It is a story of respect, hope and gratitude,
What I once lost, I have regained,
I have moved up in the class,
I have searched for freedom:
Freedom of a hell so cruel and sick,
And the clock goes tick-tock,
Without any help from me.

I wake every morning,
Knowing there are many mornings to come,
And what I once went through is now undone,
And I look to the world and see beauty,
People are many in their numbers,
And most are normal, happy, sane people,
Because heaven really is a place on earth,
So I pray for my former self,
Knowing I am finally free forever.
