brown grass pliant to touch
covering once green lawn
once please these eyes
watching how birds tiptoed
looking gourmet of insects
then fly jubilant to their perch
now i see pieces carried away
by water flow to drainage; bye
ground would be bare soon
where small sprout of green
will reach out to sunlight god
to shower of grace from above
