If All Was In A Different Life Poem by Hamza Obeng

If All Was In A Different Life

Rating: 4.0

If it was a different life,
It would have been all gloomy.
If it was a different world,
It would have lasted
I yearn, yet I coil back into my shell
You crave, yet you resist
Why couldn’t this happen sooner?
Why does it linger in our minds this long?
Perhaps that’s how fate wishes it to be
For it could have only been,
If all was in a different life.

It was all of a sudden
You came from nowhere
Then all began to grow
Even though this is not how it was supposed to be
For never did I expect this, neither did you
Caught in the mist of the storm
With rains all over
Silently awaiting for the next move
But then I realized
That it couldn’t be
For it could have only worked out
If it was all in a different life.

I wish, I pray
For all to go on well
Just for you to remain happy
For all this could have worked out
If all were under different circumstances
But this was how it was meant to be
For fate has already chosen for us
Because we both know it could have worked out perfectly
If it was all in a different life.

A nice write on how things obviously don't continue on if not meant to be by the winds of fate. Very nicely done!
