If I Could Help Poem by Randy McClave

If I Could Help

If I can stop just one person
From ever again swearing or cursin',
This to my soul I would happily say
I did very good today.
Then I know that I had done grand,
As I was led by God's forgiving hand.

If I could ever stop anyone
From being a liar or a cheater or a con,
Then I would think to myself that I did good
As we all truly should.
Then I would slap myself on the back,
As I had thwarted the devils attack.

If I could stop any guy
From committing a simple pain or a lie,
Knowing from it he will use or hurt
And someone sadly will be treated like dirt.
I would thank God for being their,
And I would thank God for answering a prayer.

If I could talk to any one lass
And tell her truly that she has class,
Especially after she's been hurt, used or mistreated
Or being spiritually drained and defeated.
How good I and my soul would feel,
Knowing that God gave me the gift to heal.

If I could help any individual
It truly would feel my spirit and my soul,
To be there and to help a person that I did meet
Or to help someone get on there feet.
I know that God will tell me that I did well,
Maybe helping someone to seek heaven and not hell.
