If I Knew In My Heart Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

If I Knew In My Heart

If I knew in my heart,
I was right.
I would not fight...
I'd walk away.
Not from a feeling of weakness.

If I knew in my heart,
I was right.
I would not fight.
I would be bleeding inside...
From wounds I self inflict.

Knowing whatever I chose to do,
You would pick until I shared with you...
Ignorance.
And so much of that,
Has gotten us off track.

If I knew in my heart,
I was right.
I would not fight...
I'd walk away.
Hoping one day...
Your mouth would shut!
And your ears would open.

If I knew in my heart,
I was right.

Why desire to sing 'duets'? When one continues to hint, doing 'all' performances in 'solo'. So...how low should one go, to be convinced of this?
