If Only You Were There! Poem by Jaishree Nair

If Only You Were There!

Rating: 4.3

In the velvetty dampness of dusk,
Under the silvery beams of moonlight
To spread the warmth of love...
If only you were there!

In the cool showers of the early monsoon,
Heart tuning to the pitter patter of music,
To enjoy the petrichor of the wet earth..
If only you were there!

In the calm stillness of the night,
Under the stars twinkling bright
to feel Cupid's breath tickling near...
If only you were there!

In the serene company of the breakers
The whispers echoing the bliss of moment
to play with the foams caressing the feet
If only you were there!

If only you realized
the wealth of these rare treasures
instead of searching the desert for the cold yellow metal!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

But it is always human fallacy to search the desert for gold when the sea, shores, sands, night, rain and sky call out to you from all around. Enjoyed your poem.
