If Ye Love Me In Fear Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

If Ye Love Me In Fear

Rating: 5.0

To love in fear is to go reverse gear,
If such be thine love dear, I might well doubt
You love— the twain is no one to one peer,
And pray, make not that pout a beauty's clout.
Love and fear, birds, never together roost,
Fear of God far is from loving Him, dear,
Seldom can fear a disguise of love wear,
Nor faith nor trust such love can ever boost.

But dear, I do love God and there's no fear,
Freedom He gives to love any deity,
And He loves me no less; is my point clear?
This freedom, freedom is from fear, ye see.
Try and give this freedom freely to move,
And find me free from fear—me and my love.

A husband and wife talk about freedom from fear. There is always fear from losing love (to someone else) . Her idea about freedom from fear makes him silent. The medium used by this sonnet is humour.

Yes, dear EKL, love and fear are the birds that never together roost. You're spot on, thank you.

Love should be fearless. Love should bloom like flower in tenderness. If love is merged with fear this provokes thought. An amazing poem is excellently penned.10

You're absolutely right, love is like flower that cannot blossom in fear. And love is no love if it does not bloom as you deem to say. You have given a new insight thank you.
