Illegally Staged Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Illegally Staged

Overacted theatrical dramatic events.
Illegally staged.
Hypnotically entertaining.
And intentionally meant to intensify,
Every audience convinced...
A deceiving scene stealer,
Represents their best interest.
With an accepting of a treason.
Upon them,
Consciously done...
In an assortment of backstabbing,
Betraying ways.

So effective is the act.
So impressively displayed.
So in their faces is this disgrace.
Yet defended as just a performance.
An act to dismiss,
What is observed and skillfully directed...
Is nothing more than what it is.
A performance overacted theatrically.
And only staged for the purpose,
To be entertaining and not to believe...
One perceived,
As an incompetent scene stealer.
Will do next to produce,
A reality that has been hidden.
Leaving those glued to their sold out seats!
