In Between Heaven And Hell Poem by shakil ahmed

In Between Heaven And Hell

Rating: 5.0

I am floating frantically flapping my tender wings
In between heaven and hell.
I am cursing and swearing relentlessly
Over my sad plight.
In my right heaven allures me
With its enchanting comfort and ease
Assuring eternal peace and happiness.
On my left there exists terrible hell
Gaping like ravenous mouth of dragon
Flaring and glaring fire wavering
With its searing flame
To scortch my body and soul as amber.
Myriads of venomous serpent hissing, and
Raising fangs to pour their poison
Into my slender and stringent body.

I sob like an orphan with regret and remorse
Recollecting my nostalgic days
For doing nothing worthwhile.
My heart hovers aloft like fluttering bird
Tearing away all bonds of love
Wavering between right and left
Garnering sighs of forgotten past
From the annals of forsaken history.

Slowly the gloom of centuries
Surrounds me with its variegated walls
And I grope in congealed darkness
Hooting at my malignant fate.
I feel like floating as nascent lotus
In the waves of perilous ocean.
World will find my dribbling tears
Merged with briny water.

A sense of utter confusion n desperation is depicted in a way that pulls the reader. Something we all at some point go through, the forces of good n evil pulling us.

A poem on life on a philosophical base has been nicely depicted and presented. I found proper use of adjective that attracts the readers' mind. Slowly the gloom of centuries Surrounds me with its variegated walls And I grope in congealed darkness Hooting at my malignant fate. I feel like floating as nascent lotus In the waves of perilous ocean. World will find my dribbling tears Merged with briny water... great theme. I love these lines. Full vote.
