In Cloisters Of Memory I Roam(Bilingual) Poem by Perdita Young (Hanna Wang)

In Cloisters Of Memory I Roam(Bilingual)

In the Leafy Cloisters of Memory I Roam

In the leafy cloisters of memory I roam,
My heart with Cape Jasmine being perfumed;
With its curling clouds the Time floats by,
In Autumnal shade and light and gleam.

My thought up flies and soars
To those good days of yore,
The swelling moods that shift
Now descend like moonlight,
On a heart locked long in secrecy,
An unexpected delight…

The wind comes cool, it flips and flutters
The dust-laden pages tattered,
Where lines of verse shimmer and shine
Like scattered beads they bounce and roll…

I stoop to pick the brilliant gems
That glisten,scattered and mottled,
And try with care to them string,
With golden thread I somehow win,
To get them nicely fastened
In frame and lattice cozy and clear.

The store my heart has cherished,
A clinging to life that's transient,
Likened to an earthy cicada,
With its whole life awaiting
A next spring, to stir and break anew.
