Empty...
Like a shallow space inside my heart,
A huge void created, when lovers depart.
Longing...
Like a lump of earth in the summer,
Thirsting for rain, as the sun grows warmer.
Shattered...
Like a piece of glass that was broken,
Lost dreams and plans that will never happen.
Ailing...
Like a sick child crying in pain,
A heart left broken and a mind gone insane.
What a vicious cycle of lost loves and friends?
How I wish all the sorrow would finally end.
But dark clouds continue to hover,
On this poor soul's tomorrow,
Where a bitter life awaits in the end,
And solitude remains a constant friend.
