In Me Remains The Longing For You Poem by Gert Strydom

In Me Remains The Longing For You

Outside the flowers in garden and the lawn
are drenched from all the rain
and the water gathers in puddle to puddle
while sheets of fog fades everything.
On your insistence I am away from you
and still linked by a marriage
where you do find no value in my words
and I find no reason for you behaviour
or a way to make you mine again
but in me remains desire to be with you.
Where the beauty of spring do touch me deeply:
I suddenly observe trees that are blossoming,
everything around me comes to fulfilment
and that I pray that this will come to you and me.
