In The Garden Poem by Randy McClave

In The Garden

Rating: 4.5

In the garden I saw a Rose
It stood alone and seemed so sad,
But, I knew it was strong and made others glad
So, I wrote this one prose.

Beautiful Rose with your lingering scent
You remind me of a woman that I had once known,
Like you she stood beautiful and alone
But, us being together, was not Heaven meant.

Around her too she had a fence
Her heart was many times used, and then broken,
My words to her were left unread, or unspoken
She is now a memory, a past pretense.

A woman's heart which had harden
Remembrance to her many like me still mourns,
But, she still has her beauty and her thorns
Like the Rose, that people adore in this garden.
