Incarceration Poem by David Harris

Incarceration

In the darkest corner, I hide,
afraid of my inner thoughts
that no one will ever hear.
My pen resists the urges to write them down
as misunderstood they would be.
Afraid the sins of my mind
will spill out to others too.
They remain trapped within
a tormented mind unable
to escape to fruition,
which is better that way.
Least there they cannot
tarnish other saintly minds.
Inside they must dwell
until my body decays
and my mind no longer
thinks of urges to play
on the innocent of heart.
