Incredibility
On the devil's staircase
going down to the beach
you don't count the number of steps;
but you do on the way back up.
Next time you remember the number,
but count them again going up:
you see,
the number is 123.

You really shou, ld count the stairs going down as well.. You never know. I would just stay down there
