Iraq War Syllogism - 42

42

They put up a map on the wall
So large it covers the windows and prevents anyone from seeing outside
Everyone must acknowledge this map before they do anything else
And that map is of Israel

It's the last bastion of colonialism
The west's foothold among the people with the resources with they want to exploit
With its foot on your throat and nowhere to complain

You swore you wouldn't get distracted
But this is the excuse for all that has occurred in 70 years
Of dictators and cold warriors and colonizers and freedom fighters

And this discolors every relationship
Gives cover to autocrats and monarchs
Can't be separated from any other events in the region

Israel is a symbol for how little value they hold for Arab lives, that Europeans could take an ancient claim and use it to commit ethnic cleansing and nobody cares until the Arabs fight back
Der Yassin, Sabra and Shatila, Operation Cast Lead, all the massacres almost too many to name and the world doesn't care
