Israel: An Impressive Freedom Record Despite Adversity

Rating: 5.0

an Arab judge to send a Jewish President to jail?
in an Israeli democracy an Arab Knesset member
can reside over parliamentary sittings power order
a member off the stand contrast Muslim Arab world?
is abusive to religious minorities Christians Jews?
who are forced to convert deported or murdered
killed with crazed bestial religious intolerance
churches burned blown up with worshippers inside?

in Israel the Muslim community in freedom prays...
grows while places sacred to Christians are protected
visited by millions of pilgrims in Israel democratic
diverse freedoms flourish Israelis enjoy academic
freedom of speech since 2002 seven Israelis have won
Nobel Prize in scientific fields where freedom flourishes...

'As the legislative branch of the Israeli government, the Knesset passes all laws, elects the president, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government through its committees. It also has the power to waive the immunity of its members, remove the President and the State Comptroller from office, and to dissolve itself and call new elections.'

Quotation from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
'There have been Israeli Arab members of the Knesset ever since the first Knesset elections in 1949. The following is a list of the 76 past and present members. Some Israeli Druze dispute the label 'Arab' and consider Druze to be a separate ethnic group. However, as they speak Arabic as their first language they are still included in this list.'
