Women, children, families:
they are all there
in the tents and on the streets;
they are hungry, unhappy and tired,
waiting for a new dawn,
praying for the war to end
but peace is not in sight;
their struggles continue,
they feel deprived
they feel lost and lonely;
their life has been detonated
by a war that is so atrocious.
The world leaders keep talking,
they want to retrieve peace
they want to end the war:
they talk, they shake hands
they try to negotiate peace deals;
no one wants to listen to another
the war has its own journey -
the journey of vengeance to complete.
Women and children so fatigued,
no one wants to hear their cries
no one wants to curb their sufferings
no one cares if they are starving
no one cares if they are sick
no one cares if they are dying;
they survive by themselves
but how long will life hold on
and let existence persist
when they have no bed to rest,
no food to eat, no home to shelter themselves?
Will war continue its route of horror
will nations keep fighting so vehemently forever
will innocent people keep perishing in bomb explosions?
will fathers keep dying as if they have no families?
will mothers keep adhering to uncomfortable existence?
will grandparents keep sleeping with fears and nightmares?
how will war compensate these families for the tears they shed
for having lost their loved ones who had no guns to fight back?
how will generations ever forget or forgive this unforgivable war?
