It Isn'T A Coincidence Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

It Isn'T A Coincidence

Creatures of habit.
And receivers easily teased,
By temptations eventually addictive.
And convinced that a marketing of decadence,
Will someday raise them on pedestals...
To the gates of glory?

And brave in their battles...
To inflict their way of life! !

Well...
It isn't a coincidence,
That the building of more hospitals...
And the producing of more prison cells,
Has been a direct reflection of their philosophies.
And those gates envisioned surround mental institutions.
