It Never Happened Poem by Linda I. Weischedel

It Never Happened

I honestly gave my all to you,
I gave you a love that was oh so true,
what did you turn around and do,
you just threw my honest love away,
there was no way I was going to stay.

I tried once, then I tried twice,
gambling on an unstable love,
I threw the dice,
it was you who lost, but it was my poor heart
that paid the price, and it was my mind that
had to deal with the cost.

It then became very clear, I then knew,
you never liked me, you never loved me,
so I turned, walked away without saying a word,
I made a pact with my heart to forget you,
since then your name has never been heard!
