'' It's Not If But When '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' It's Not If But When ''

On the subject of lying,
There's no denying,
In the main it's very uncouth,
What you're falsifying,
Will have you crying,
When those lied to find out the truth.

What you've disguised,
Will be revised,
As your lie grows arms and legs,
When it's analysed,
You'll feel compromised,
When you can't remember the dregs.

Your story will change,
It will then derange,
When your memory starts to diminish,
You'll then rearrange,
What already seems strange,
Till you don't know the start from the finish.

Your fabrication,
Will cause you aggravation,
When your falsity you can no longer remember,
Like a mutation,
There's an alteration,
It then resembles a hot burning ember.

From large and hot,
To small and taut,
Which one and to whom was it told,
You've already forgot,
In sets the rot,
Now it's you blowing hot and cold.

Be in no doubt,
The truth will come out,
Ask yourself now, what then,
Everything you spout,
Everyone will doubt,
Believe me,
