Jarring Is The Image Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Jarring Is The Image

Jaw dropping and jarring.
Is the image.
Of one with a childish disposition.
Placed in a position to set policy.
With a changing of conditions.
That upsets a once expected normalcy.
Although approved and followed.
This mentality.
To have made a difference,
For those with minds too blind to see.
Or capable to believe,
Their quality of life is doing a slow bleed.

Jarring is this image.
To have this reality in faces take place.
Jarring it is,
And effective this ignored disgrace.
Promising such damage done.
Overcoming it,
Will be impossible for the ones.
Dumbed down but warned.
And yet,
Cheer they do and boast of this image.
Believing its presence,
Has for them been ordained.
And blessed they are,
To witness such a disruptive and destructive...
Change inflicted upon humanity.
