I’ve stopped listening to certain songs
Just because of the memories they bring-
And everybody knows there’s nothing
Better than a hot fudge ice cream on
A warm summer day.

I’ve started making new memories
In the places I love to go-
And everybody knows there’s nothing
Better than a hug when you’re
Down and out.

I’ve finished complaining about the
Things I can’t change and learned to appreciate-
And everybody knows a phone call
From someone you haven’t heard
From in a while causes a thrill.

I’ve love from my heart and I see
Through my soul because love is purer that way-
And everybody knows that even
When we want things to remain
Sometimes they’re better off fading away…
