Distorted Love - Poem by Ashley Ormon

How distorted is the meaning of love
Of men and woman today?
In all believing that sex is love
And can be easily thrown away.
Hookups and breakups,
One-night stands,
Where is the pure love,
Between woman and man?
It’s all about “playing the game”,
And where’s the love in that?
I tell you this “new love” of theirs,
Is so dull and flat-
Distorted love I call it,
Lacking the true affection that’s kind,
Maybe true love has been forgotten,
And someone needs to remind,
That this “new love”, “distorted love”
Needs to be left behind.

these words ring true for so many of us. good job.

This is a very good perspective. I like the sarcastic overtones. They kind of drive the point home. I do believe that sex is absolutely necessary for a marriage relationship and keeping the love there fresh and romantic. But it is not for everybody else, and sex is not love. It also is not posters with pictures of movie stars and musicians. I enjoy listening to your perspective; have you ever considered lecturing or speech? (Report)Reply

You have wonderfully aspected the love. Love has turned lust. People starve for love that eroticism cannot replace. (Report)Reply

If you think love is sex, love a body.
Body is full of greed lust and desires
This world is not a place for love.

A great poem that shows the true meaning of how people conceive what love is today. If people would just look back at how romantic people were back years ago. (Report)Reply
