Just Friends Poem by Elisabeth Wingle

Just Friends

Rating: 3.8

Now he says 'We'll just be friends.'
I know I'll never see him again
Not the way it used to be
When I loved him and he loved me

We could speak without talking
When his eyes meet mine
We could travel without walking
Into a future time

Our future was to be. A fantasy life
He as my husband, and I as his wife
We 'd have every thing we wanted,
And good times to spare.
But I can't see it now,
It just isn't there

Right now I hurt,
I hurt real bad
And if I try hard enough
Sometimes I get mad
I just can't figure it out
Why it always must end
And why they must leave you with
We can still be friends

my favorite lines [the most 'emotional' perhaps]: And if I try hard enough Sometimes I get mad I just can't figure it out Why it always must end And why they must leave you with We can still be friends friends doesn't cut it usually, i'd guess. when it happens to me (a break-up) , i move on. NEXT! ! ! bri ;) i hope you find love again in a man...............or? to MyPoemList maybe a future showcase? bri :)

Unfortunately life is that way. we make plans, but only God really knows what he has in store for us. wonderful poem full of heartbreak and pathos.
