Just Like You
So many faces
looking at me
not many smiles
most of them creased.
Hoping to see
some perfect life
but that's not me
and I won't lie.
I am what I am
with nothing to hide
no charm, no guile
I have no disguise.
See me up close
see me like this
give me the freedom
to be what I wish.
And then we can meet
when you see and feel
that I'm just like you
when I walk down the street.
