Just Mother And Me Poem by Anna Hardin

Just Mother And Me

Rating: 4.8

His eyes are blue,
His smile is beautiful, too.
It reflects the sun, to beautiful to see,
Yet he knows nothing of her, nor me.

He passes us by,
Like the baby bird that just learns to fly,
Leaving the nest and taking to the sky,
I just wish he'd notice my mother and I.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My Adopted father, My biological father signed over his rights, passed by very quick. He showed me love that i had never felt before. Not like motherly love or even a brothers love. Though my older brother was a father figure, my adopted father showed me what it means to be a child. He took me on my first real vacation out of the state to Florida. He rode me on his motorcycle. He bought me stuff to play dress up. He worked on motorcycle parts when he wasn't working sometimes we would do it together. We even built a shelf together. You could even say that my </3 broken was suddenly filled.
