'' Just Past '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Just Past ''

What's in the future?
No-one can tell,
As what's ahead of us doesn't exist,
Will that suture,
Heal or swell,
What's not happened cannot be missed.

What's present is gone,
In the blink of an eye,
To join the memories of old,
Time moving on?
We cannot defy,
It's truly a power to behold.

Take the clairvoyant,
Who knows what's ahead,
They are playing tricks with your mind,
Depressed or buoyant,
We all end up dead,
To make money their tales are defined.

What's happening tomorrow,
Is but a plan,
There's no such thing as a seer,
Beg steal or borrow,
Since time began,
You can't guarantee you'll be here.

Live for today,
That moment is yours,
Make living for now your treasure,
Making it pay,
Is what reassures,
Time here doesn't have any measure.

Be it short or long,
There's very few know,
Where or when we will meet our end,
Right or wrong,
It may come as a blow,
The future is purely pretend.

Make it your vow,
To enjoy live time,
Treasure the memories you've amassed,
It's the here and now,
Which makes life sublime,
There's no present or future,

Life should be fun, not a grind, which it often is. We should stop every now and then and remember what you said. Good one
