Just Sound The Music Poem by Paula Glynn

Just Sound The Music

Just move to the flow,
Get your skates on and live,
Just sound the music out,
Let it go, scream and shout,
For you should have the time of your life,
And get drunk on punch,
As you spend glitzy nights,
Going out and about,
Walking those gold paved streets that beckon you,
And call you to dream big dreams,
And make you move to the rhythm of the music,
For you are young in heart as in mind.

You rhyme it so well,
That my heart swells with anticipation every night,
And I just can't wait for the day to turn into evening,
I really love standing on that stage,
And singing just for myself,
To see those people dancing with me and clapping,
And I know that tomorrow this night will be a memory,
But it matters so much to me to be here right now,
And to feel the energy of the crowd,
And to just appreciate the here and now,
And laugh where I once frowned,
And you matter to me, too.

Everything anybody says makes a difference to me,
For I am no more like you, than I am me,
I just feel a love for the world flow like water,
The heat of the night taking me to the stars,
And deep into the night,
That doesn't protect me,
For I can protect myself,
But it is nice to know you are there,
And good to know that,
It is as good as the first time.
