Kabir: Shadows In The Evening Fall Poem by Ravi Kopra

Kabir: Shadows In The Evening Fall

Rating: 5.0

Shadows in the evening fall
thick and deep
the darkness of love
comes over my body and mind
and envelops me.

Window that opens to the west
I look out and get lost
in the love of skies.
Sweet honey that steeps
the petals of the lotus
of my heart, I drink silently.
And I am carried by the splendor
of waves from the sea.

Wait! Listen!
The rising sounds of bells
The rising music of conches.
Says saint Kabir: Behold!
O brother, behold!
I see the lord living
in the vessel of my body.

Your words excite the heart and reinforce the appreciation of life. If we are not sure of the purpose of our life, perhaps it is just to be aware of and inhale all the beauty of nature that surrounds us. A poem that touches the very soul.
