Kalil Gibran: Once I Filled My Hand With Mist In Hindi/Urdu Translation

ek baar main ne
apni muthi main dhund le lee
jab muthi khloli aur dekha
wahan tha paDa ek keeDa.
main ne fir muthi bund ki aur khooli
dekha to wahan beitha tha ek parinda,
ek baar fir main ne muthi bund ki aur kholi
is baar is ki gehraai main khaDa tha ek aadmi
dukh nikal raha tha us k cheray se
aur gardan muDi hue thee uski akaash ki taraf.
aisa hi main ne ek baar fir kiya
to dekha muthi fir se dund se bhari thee
lakin is baar main ne ek atyant khushi ka geet suna.

***

Once I filled my hand with mist.
Then I opened it and lo, the mist was a worm.
And I closed and opened my hand again, and behold there was a bird.
And again I closed and opened my hand, and in its hollow stood a man with a sad face, turned upward.
And again I closed my hand, and when I opened it there was naught but mist.
But I heard a song of exceeding sweetness.
