Keeping Kerouac Alive - For Daniel Brick And M.J. Lemon Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Keeping Kerouac Alive - For Daniel Brick And M.J. Lemon

Rating: 5.0

I thoroughly believe
In writing with passion
And such a belief
Makes it so happen

Nothing was happening
With the Kerouac book
'til I deeply believed
In synchronicity

Soul poets Brick and Lemon
Were steering the battleship
Through deeply troubled waters
With I/Kerouac's spirit

The ship weathered the storms
With Captain Kerouac
And the damn mighty crew
Kept his spirit alive

Fantastic, Richard. The image of the ship, of Kerouac, navigating the narrows is the metaphorical journey all great writers must undertake.
