Damned to be strong
Must persevere
In times severe

Brilliant, Richard. The lesson Kerouac learned from the road is that it's a thing that can simultaneously represent a sense of loss/homelessness and opportunity. I got that feeling from this verse, the same sense I get every time I revisit Kerouac's novel. Brilliant verse!

Perfect assessment of his book and life and of my poem. Your very strong support and encouragement means the world to me, my friend. Let's both traverse the road to success!
