O wow. his is brilliance, Richard. The struggle between the wolf and the sheep describes magnificently what, I think, Kerouac saw as the dialectic of life. Brilliant!

Thx so much, M.J.! Your assessment is right on target. I believe that Kerouac came across a number of wolves in sheep's clothing. And some of them were still haunting him well after his death. How tragic!
