Kin Poem by Don Prem Legaspi

Kin

My bones arose from the earth
Brothers they are to pillars of stone
Dust reclaimed, in longing of the land

My blood is one with the sea
Stirring strong as it's vile currents
Flowing from the marrow of the world

My breathe hails from the skies
In part of all beneath, unending in path
Shaping the shadows of the sands

My flesh is birthed from mud and clay
so it shall return after withering
To be part of new flesh to be born

All my fathers hail from one bearer
my bearer and hers belong to one kin
Holding me close to nourish my body
As she nourishes all around and within
My feet are always within her touch
To fall is to regain her embrace
Drawing upon bone, flesh and blood
Unto her womb in my final days
