Lady Liberty Is Weeping Poem by Darwin Henry Beuning

Lady Liberty Is Weeping

Rating: 5.0

Give unto Caesar
That which is Caesar's

Our Anthem, Our Flag
Stand tall, show respect

Those, who refuse to stand,
Take a knee
Raise a fist

'Can kiss my Ass'

I'm part of the majority
We, who bleed
Red, White and Blue

ok, now. kiss my Ass is the profanity? i was hoping of better, but i didn't know what the context would be whey you told me you'd written your first poem with 'profanity'. i had already read the other two poems i mentioned, though i'd not finished commenting on them, so i figured i could at least read yours. then, of course i had to start a comment. i'll be back to comment more. you may not like what i say. i like the poem, overall. to MyPoemList. bri :)

There are many who are burning their favorite team's jerseys, giving up their season tickets, etc. What is this world coming to when people can't show respect for the flag?
