Ανθρώπων δάκρυα
λιμνούλες των καημών,
του κόσμου δείλι.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The myth speaks of a beautiful girl who many years ago lived in a village with her father just in the area where the lake is located. It was so beautiful that it looked almost fake. One day, while they were going to their field, they sat down a bit to rest.

The girl started combing her hair that shone like gold and "clouded" her father who began to approach her with mischievous moods. The frightened daughter came to shout "Voula and Voulomila, and I am a lion in the lake! " Then the area immediately sank into the water, creating Lake Kournas. The residents of the area say that many have seen the fairy combing her hair in the moon, sitting on a rock in the middle of the lake.

Others say that anyone who believes in the legend can see her at night, slip into the glass of water and bathe her fuzzy hair, flooding the lake with light.
