Before the sunset over the Atlantic steals your heart; before the ocean of dunes tears your perception of beauty apart, take a second to realise where you are, close your eyes and wish on a star. Wish on a country that will mend your scars. Open your eyes; you are in Namibia, Land of the brave. From the white lady painted in a cave to the Fish river engraved, the wonders of God displayed for the world to see. This vast and beautiful land will take your breath away, leave you forever changed and haunt you with thoughts to stay in this gemstone; Africa's cornerstone. As you breathe in the clean air you'll find traces of hope, a reason to cope through tough times. At the same time your soul is touched by the welcome of warm smiles. The people; the building blocks of this steadfast nation, with faith being their firm foundation. In unity they stand, holding hands, looking out for one another. Instead of killing, they're helping their brother. Together they live free as frienships rule the streets; beating together as one heartbeat. Instead of being overcome by evil, they live by a gracious free will. Marching as one, filled with motivation, as God blesses this true rainbow nation. If there is a wall they'll break through it, if there is a question they'll find the answer to it. Showing the world the true meaning of democracy, eliminating hipocrisy, overcoming a xenophobic disease, bringing corruption to its knees; and still living free, standing firm on integrity and holding on to their beliefs to helping each other in times of need. As the winds of yesterday carry whispers from the grave, you hear echos of voices that say: 'You made us proud, Land of the Brave.'
