Land Of The Freebee Poem by David Harris

Land Of The Freebee

While we were in the EU
we were known as a freebee country.
Free medical care,
free housing and
free benefits for this and that.
Finally the British people had had enough
being second class citizens in their own country.
The Politicians who said remain did not understand
what the people wanted.
They closed their ears to that.
However after the vote to leave on the 23 June 2016
they still argued amongst themselves
saying we didn't do enough to remain,
but not one thought of asking
what the people of Britain wanted.
It wasn't about being racist,
it was about not becoming
second class citizens in our own country.
We were much better off 40 years ago without the EU
and we will be better off again.
EU members were frighten by the thought of us leaving.
It grew strength on the UK.
Now we are gone they don't like it.
Brussels can no longer set our laws anymore
and tell us what we can and cannot do.
We are back now to being British again
not a handout country to all the beggars.
We can be proud again.
