Language Of Flowers Poem by Paul Sebastian

Rating: 5.0

Daffodils welcome the dawn of spring
Labouring winter gives birth to spring

Roses, enchanter of lovers’ hearts
You speak when lovers lose words

Lilies, you image purity and innocence
You remind us of after-life’s inheritance

Calla Lily, your beauty says: ‘You are beautiful’
You ask relationship to stay always faithful

Daisies, promise child-like innocence
Children pull petals confessing love and obedience

Hydrangeas, symbol of thankfulness
Are offered at altars for God’s faithfulness

Pink carnations, you speak of gratitude
Red carnations, for admiration; say ‘I am fortunate’
Jasmine, virgin-pure, altar offering prayer
Heavenly perfumed, you adorn bride’s hair

Aster, you dress patience and optimism
You encourage hope and positivism

Lilacs, lavender, portraying freshness
You speak of love’s joy and happiness

Orchids, acknowledge beauty and strength
To preserve love you would go the full length

Every morning flowers in the garden greet
Do we stand and stare, listen when they speak?

WOW! ! ! Your poem is very beautiful! Synonyum of purity is flowers.... The real attraction of this poem lies in the rythmic verse, the flow of words, and in your imagination. It is rare to see this combination in a single poem...Hats off to you! ! 10/10
