Language, Yes Poem by Sandra Feldman

WHAT YOU SAY IS WHAT YOU ARE. A very important truth. And that's why I am so troubled by the coarsening of language in so much entertainment. The prevalence of four letter words in movies does not promote a wider grasp of our immense English vocabulary; it makes people settle for the lowest common denominator. Or talk shows in which people gush and ramble with no sense of the proportion and balance in their speech. One of your poems is titled LANGUAGE, OUR FRIEND. That's the right informal but still respectful attitude we should promote.

Very true, indeed, lucky human beings, for so much language feels, the magic door that opens infinite roads towards knowledge. Digging into different languages, the more amazed we may feel just like the time we have discovered how different we may see the stars when sitting in complete dark space, then the times also to change would seem...
