Last Laugh Poem by Hannah Davies

Last Laugh

Looking for signs
That all will be fine.
Trying to think positively
Not allowing things to get on top of me.

I finally have a job, hooray! !
I got the much waited phone call today.
Things are starting to move on
Soon all the bad things will be gone.

Working in a place that's new
Mixing with a different crew.
Slowly climbing back up the ladder
I maybe at the bottom, but that don't matter.

Everyone needs a place to start
A chance to play their part.
At least I can now pay my way
Get out of the house for a few hours a day.

A new beginning
Horizon of opportunities ringing.
I can be whatever I want to be
Time and dedication will bring out the best of me.

I don't care what people think
I won't let them drive me to the brink.
Now my life has some direction
And I have people around me who I love as protection.

Things can not possibly get any worse
I'm finally breaking free of this evil curse.
I feel I'm starting to walk down the right path
I won't be beaten and will have the last laugh.
