Left Behind Poem by Larry Schreckengost

Left Behind

Rating: 5.0

Most responsibilities past
Make your bed, take a bath
Weed the little garden path
Set some food out for the cat

No more sleeping on her grass
Wild bouquets, they're okay
Only bring her one a day
After your visit
Come home right away

I hear you whisper to her chair
You know she isn't really there
I can't find the Elderberry wine
Everything will be just fine
You only have to give it time
